The Guards Polo Club Abuja kicks off its highly anticipated annual National Carnival Polo Tournament, at the Guards Polo Club/Nigeria Army Polo Resort, Mambilla Barracks, Abuja. This event uniquely blends sport, culture, and elite social interaction.
Featuring over 40 competing polo teams, this year’s tournament promises thrilling competition for four prestigious cups and various special trophies across different categories. Notably, the Rubicon, Mangal Cement, STL and Malcomines Polo Teams will vie for the coveted President Cup, the tournament’s top honour.

Sen. Dauda Halliru Jika, President, Guards Polo Club Abuja, remarked that the 2025 tournament “remains one of the moments where our Club truly comes alive, a reminder of how sport can bring people together and strengthen our community.”

Scheduled to run from December 1 to December 14, the tournament will reward top participants with four main championship cups: the President Cup, FCT Minister Cup, Legislative Shield, and Low Cup. Additional accolades include the COAS Cup, Argentine Ambassador’s Cup, Dauwle Baba Memorial Cup, and El-Amin Cup for youth competitors.

Ahmed Aminu, Tournament Manager, revealed that this year’s sponsorship plan is designed to deliver measurable value, enhance customer engagement, and foster long-term brand affinity among partners.
The event will host esteemed sponsors such as Jaiz Bank, Mangal Cement, FSDH, Niger Foods, Kabba Doors, Vento Furniture, Nexim, KSH Foundation, STL, Pop Cola, Noella Foundation, Afdin Petroleum, Abab Nig Ltd, Max Air, Samu and many more.
