The First-of-its-kind Abeokuta Innovation & Tech Party (AITP) Holds on May 26th and 27th, 2023, at the Ogun State Tech Hub

The Abeokuta Innovation & Tech Party (AITP) is set to take place on May 26th and 27th, 2023, at the Ogun State Technology Hub in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. The event is co-organized by GetFundedAfrica and the Ogun State Government and is themed “Innovation Knows No Bounds,” highlighting the city’s position as Africa’s new technology hub.

The event is expected to host:

  • 2000+ attendees 
  • 100+ exhibiting startups, 
  • 50+ investors, 
  • 30+ speakers,  
  • 10+ corporate partners. 

The two-day event will feature an opening ceremony, exhibitions by startups, panel sessions, a bonfire party, and a cultural tour of Abeokuta on Day 2.

The Chief Host of the event is H.E Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, the Executive Governor of Ogun State, and the Chief Honouree is Mrs. Olatomiwa Williams, Country Director, Microsoft Nigeria & Ghana. The event’s special guest is ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR. 

The first day of the event will feature an opening ceremony by the Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Prince ‘Dapo Abiodun (MFR), with a plaque unveiling and dedication of the “Olatomiwa Williams Hall” in honour of Mrs. Olatomiwa Williams, the first female Country Manager for Microsoft in West Africa and a native of Abeokuta.

The event will provide attendees with the opportunity to interact with various investors, corporate organizations, mentors, and startup companies driving innovation in Africa. Visitors will also get to experience Abeokuta’s food delicacies and the traditional tie-and-dye method of cloth manufacturing called “adire.” The day will end with a bonfire party.

Day 2 will offer an incomparable cultural experience for attendees who wish to extend their stay in Abeokuta. Tour operators will organize all details and logistics, allowing visitors to enjoy the city’s various tourist attractions, including the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, OOPL Wildlife Park, Olumo Rock, the Kuti Family Museum, Ake’s Palace, and other tourist spots.
