FFA’S GARMENT AND FASHION INDUSTRY CONFERENCE SET TO TAKE PLACE MAY 25TH, 2018

FFA’S GARMENT AND FASHION INDUSTRY CONFERENCE

BALMORAL CONVENTION CENTER, FEDERAL PALACE HOTEL. VI.

The Fashions Finest Africa team isn’t relenting at ensuring that Fashions Finest Africa Epic Show 2018 brings nothing but the very best to the African fashion industry. In line with the runway show, exhibitions and prestigious awards, there would also be a conference where those that matter in the African Fashion Industry would be present.
The conference is set to hold on Friday, May 25, 2017 at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, from 9am to 3pm.

The conference being the opening activity of the Fashions Finest Africa Epic Show 2018 will hold with the theme: “How to Increase Nigeria’s Participation in the Global Garment Production Industry”.
It will host fashion designers, fashion entrepreneurs, international and Nigerian Industry experts (public and private sector), experienced professionals academicians, analysts, development finance institutions and textile industry groups, among others.
Nigeria’s population is expected to be the 3rd largest globally by 2050, the necessity of ensuring attention in terms of policy formulation and implementation, appropriate investment, skill acquisition/ training is paid to the fashion, garment and textile industry “NOW” cannot be overemphasized.

The FFA Epic Show Conference presents an international platform that offers unparalleled opportunities for key stakeholders in the Textile and Fashion Industry to learn from;
The conference will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, master classes, presentations and knowledge sharing.
Major policymakers and business leaders will engage with leading and aspiring/ ambitious Textile & Fashion Industry Stakeholders at Policy, Strategic & Tactical levels and disseminate Policy and Intervention Information to the right target.
We will ensure that there will be valuable and frank feedback that will help fine-tune MITI Interventions and contribute to achieving the government’s objective of diversifying and strengthening our economy via the Nigerian Fashion Industry.

The conference is a timely intervention focused on increasing textile and garment production in Nigeria thereby positioning and promoting home-grown fashion entrepreneurs for emerging opportunities in an increasingly globalised world. As Nigerian designers and fashion entrepreneurs gain increasing recognition across the world there is more than a compelling need for the local fashion production value chain to be strategically positioned to face the influx of global challengers.

FASHIONS FINEST AFRICA AWARDS: NOMINEES LIST + HOW TO VOTE

As the Fashions Finest Africa Epic Show draws near the excitement is in the air as the organizers of the fashion weekend extravaganza make final touches to ensure that the event is one to remember.

The Epic Show is a three-day event running from Friday 25th May to Sunday 27th May 2018, at The Balmoral Convention Center, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos.

Asides the runway show, exhibitions and conference; the Fashions Finest Africa team would be hosting the first and most prestigious all fashion awards in Nigeria. The essence of the awards is to celebrate those who have made a mark in the fashion industry.

From time immemorial a lot of people have changed the African fashion industry in many ways and the impact they make or have made have not been well recognised or appreciated. At Fashions Finest Africa we want this to change and this is why we have decided to debut the Fashions Finest Africa Awards.

There are 22 categories and 6 of the categories are open for people to cast their votes for who they think best fits while the remaining 16 categories would be properly vetted by our carefully selected judges whom have been selected based on their exploits in their chosen fields and they would choose the final winners.

The fashion extravaganza will kick off on Friday Morning with a Fashion conference where those who matter in the fashion industry and government will take on panel sessions, then later in the evening the prestigious Fashions Finest Awards will take place. We will also play hosts to Exhibitors and our marketplace vendors giving the opportunity to fashion lovers to shop till you drop. The fashion show will continue Saturday and Sunday featuring Student designers, New and Emerging designers and established designers out of Africa.
